I know! I know! I'm sorry it has been so long. I am dealing with alot of stress from school. I am currently finishing up my Block 2 in a nursing program and still loving it. My children are growing up fast, Ethan is 7 and Jenna is 4. Ethan is in 1st grade and Jenna in preschool. Chris is still with SRP, and we are all well. THat is all I have time for today. I will update more once the semester is over.

A long time.....I know

So, since it has been another length of time and the kids are in bed, I thought I would update my blog. Not much is going on right now. I did finish a couple of classes at the beginning of the month and I received my first B in Chemistry and an A in Sociology. The 4.0 is gone, I may just have to retake the class now that I understand it better, not really, I have harder classes coming. Ethan had his 6th b-day party a month ago and we bought a Wii, we love it. I bought the Wii Fit and it really works, I have already lost a couple of pounds and my back hurts. I recommend this to anyone who wants to get in shape, but doesn't want to fork out money for a gym membership. Ethan has been out of school for a week already, and he's been pretty bored. So now instead of entertaining one child all day, I have to figure things out for two. I know that sounds pathetic. Last week we started the wonderful task of potty training Jenna. I have to say I am extremely proud of her, she picked it up in two days. It was the most beautiful thing in the world. We just got a raise from not having to buy diapers anymore. Well, that's pretty much it for now. I want to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

So it has been over a month since I have written and a few things have happened. Since I don't want to constantly repeat myself to everybody, I wanted to write it in here. I received a letter from my school a week ago and have learned I DID NOT get into the nursing program I was hoping for. They told me the people they accepted had higher HESI test scores than me. It did however give me a few things to look at after the bitterness wore off. I have decided to transfer and go straight for my Bachelor's in Nursing. I have a few more classes to take than I can transfer. I can't remember if I mentioned in my last post that Chris got a promotion at work as a Supervisor. We are very grateful for this opportunity and are slowly adjusting to his new schedule and his new girlfriend, the Blackberry. Other than that, not much of anything else going on. We are doing very well and are excited for Thanksgiving. I forgot to mention that we celebrated Ethan's sixth birthday! Time flies so fast, he got Wii game for his gift, so naturally we had to but the console to go with it. We love it, it's so fun. I will try and post my Halloween pictures, I still have over 100 pics on my camera. I know I'm a slacker. Well, Happy Thanksgiving to all and take care.

Well, it has been awhile again, but I have good reasons. I have been finishing my 8 week class and was trying to get ready for Disneyland. The trip was soooooo fun, for the most part. It was good to get away for awhile, except Jenna was having behavior issues. I think it's because she is 2, but she was much more fun last year. We got to ride alot of rides, we took Chris's dad and made him suffer with us. We had a great time though, three days in Disneyland is almost a little too much though. I have added pictures on my Facebook profile. Not much else has happened though. The biggest and best news of all is that Chris finally received his promotion at work! YAY!!!! He is thrilled, as am I. He starts that on Oct. 27, I'm so proud of him. I have an interview on Tuesday the 21st at my school with the nursing advisers, hopefully that will go well. Well, when I have more news I will write about it, but for now, that's it.

I know it's been awhile since I have written a normal blog, so let me take few minutes away from my game playing and write a little. I'm still taking a couple of classes, so that keeps me pretty busy, after October 10th, my sociology class will be done and I will only have one class, yes I am excited. I was honored to get an invitation to join Phi Theta Kappa at my community college. For those of you who knew me in high school, this is quite an accomplishment. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA and plan to continue down that path, it's hard to get anything lower than a A. We have just got over the flu here at my house. Jenna had it first, than me, than Ethan and I think Chris may have it now. Good thing it only lasts 24 hours, still no fun though. We go on vacation in a few weeks, we are doing Disneyland again, we are so excited. Ethan is out of school for two weeks for a Fall break, they have the year round schedule here, he spent his first day playing at his friends. It made him happy because he was stuck in bed for a few days. Not much else is going on right now though, so I will write another time.

1. What were your nicknames in high school? Not many, Jenn was it, or Bryan's girlfriend, I usually answered to both.

2. Did you do any extra curricular activities in high school? uhhhhh.....no, I spent my spare time singing.

3.What did you do with your free time? Uhhhhh.........I spent my free time singing, or hanging out with Bryan or Jaymie.

4. Coolest /Funnest thing you did as a teenager? How young? I think the coolest thing I had ever done was sing at a hotel in Las Vegas at 15. It was quite the experience.

5. Did you have a boyfriend in high school? Duh, Bryan, the twin, you all knew that.

6. Songs that come to mind? Love Of A Lifetime by Firehouse, almost anything by "Aerosmith" and anything by Chicago or Journey or Def Leppard. Baby got back, Vanilla Ice, Nelson.

7. What did you think you would be when you grew up? I thought I would be a famous country singer or something like that.

8. How did you picture yourself? Normal, average, I did hate school, unexciting. Not much else.

9. Fun/silly Memories? Not too many, cause I spent my time singing. I guess my Junior Prom. I went with Richard Anderson and I was so surprised he asked me.

A quick note

So I don't have too much going on right now. I just started school this week, I feel like summer semester just got over. Oh wait, it did. I'm taking 7 credits this semester, but will be grateful to get two more classes out of the way. I dropped a class because my Chemistry class has a huge workload and for someone who has issues in the area anyway, I decided it best to drop to two classes. Last week I had a back tooth pulled, after two root canals and constant infections, I told them to get rid of it. I know you're all jealous, especially when I tell you I had Vicadin(?), it got me through the first couple days. As you can see by my counter, the new Harry Potter is waiting until next year to come out. Yes I was livid, it was the one thing I was looking forward to this year. At least I still have Twilight, so I guess I'll be OK, for now. Well, I am burning CD's for the missionaries, they have made our home their second home, and yes, it's church music. I try not to corrupt. I also wanted to let people know that the new Gold Canyon catalog is out, it's awesome, I have missed Pumpkin pie. If you would like samples of scents, I have a couple of Holiday scents that smell pretty good. Just FYI.

I know I'm not a critic, but the last few weeks I have come to appreciate reading, the movies and even a new video game. So here it goes....

First, my family was introduced to the LEGO Indiana Jones video game, it is actually very fun. So for any gamers questioning this, try it, you may like it. It covers the first three movies and you even get to build things with Legos. I highly recommend.

A couple of weeks ago, I got to go to the movies. This is a rare occasion for me, I normally only go to see Harry Potter, but I made an exception. My husband and I went and saw "The Dark Knight".

Talk about impressive. Because Heath Ledger played such a great Joker, you were rooting for him. Don't get me wrong, the new toys that Batman have are awesome, but I think Joker takes the movie. So if you haven't seen it yet, go, you'll love it.

The last four days have been pretty uneventful, but that's because I have been reading. I read the Twilight series, 4 books in 4 days. I thoroughly enjoyed reading these books. Yes, my husband is glad I'm finally done. Once I started reading I couldn't put the book down. The last book I read was the last Harry Potter, so it was nice to read a series that kept my interest and was clean. I have joined the Twilight bandwagon and I'm excited to see the movie. It was an easy read and I suggest if you love to read, read this.

I start school in 2 weeks, I wish I could have had a longer break, but I will next summer. This was the little bit of fun I've had and I'm glad only because it had been awhile.

So, I found out yesterday that I passed my Nursing Assistant test that I took on Sunday. I was so excited, because I can apply for the RN program and hopefully start in the spring. WOOHOO! Ethan is starting his second week of school and say he doesn't want to go anymore, good thing I get the last word. Little does he know, now that he's started, it won't end for a long time.

So , it has been awhile since I have written about what's going on here, so I will take a little time to do that. I just finished up my summer semester of school and feel a burden lifted off of my shoulders. Two more classes down, and still alot more to go. I also somehow ended up with strep throat, that really sucked, but after three days of antibiotics I was feeling grand again. OK, so not much happened last week. However, today my oldest boy started Kindergarten. Wow, talk about shocker, it seems weird he's already staring school and going all day, but he loved it.

Here he is from this morning, before we took him to school. They say the first is the hardest to let go, now I understand. He's my handsome boy.

3 joys - My first joys is my husband, Chris. He has made me a better person and makes me very happy. My kids are my other joy, they make my life complete. My third joy is my knowledge of the Gospel, because without it I couldn't be with my husband and children for eternity.

3 fears - WOW! I have lots of fears. One is losing one my family members, Chris lost his mom last year and I can't even begin to imagine what he's going through. I would be afraid of getting a "C" in school, only because I have done so well. My last fear would be if Pepsi and styrofoam cups disappeared off the face of the earth, I know that's pathetic.

3 goals - My first goal is to make sure my family is strong in the Gospel, because our Heavenly Father helps us fulfill our goals. My next goal is to finish school and obtain a Master's Degree and become a nurse anesthetist. My third goal is to lose 30 lbs. and get a tummy tuck, I swear I'm not vain, I have had alot of stomach surgeries.

3 current obsessions/collections - My biggest obsession is my computer, I feel very lost without it, obviously, everyone's asleep and it's 1:30 in the morning and I'm still here. A current obsession is my candles, I love them and love to sell them because it's so easy. I'm horribly obsessed with getting all A's in my classes, only because I never did so good in school.

3 random/surprising facts- I am a huge gamer, I love my Xbox 360 and PS2, I own Guitar hero(all but the new one), and I have Rock Band. They are also my obsession, I'm so excited for Fable 2 this Fall. I love the Harry Potter series, I guess this can go under obsessions too, but I was so impressed with the story, but my crush is on Ron. The last surprising fact is that I'm actually back in school, I never had a desire to back, now being married and having kids makes we want to have more knowledge. Knowledge is power!

Ethan and Karate

Yes it's true, I am officially a grandma!! Some of you may ask how and here is my answer. Chris had a daughter from his first marriage, she is 19 now. On Sunday, June 22, Danielle called to let us know she had the baby. The baby girl was 8 lbs. 13 oz. and 21 inches long, and only 14 hours of labor,that's pretty good for a first timer. I wouldn't know considering I don't even know what labor feels like, don't be jealous, I had my stomach cut open. The baby's name is Aislin Jean Parker. Anyway, it still feels really weird being a grandma who's only 32 and to know we could have another baby in our home. Haven't seen pics yet, but I will share them when I receive them. We are pretty excited.

On Sunday, we took Jenna's binky and threw it away, talk about horrid! She has been driving me nuts. "I want my ginky (that's what she calls it) back", she is crying at this point and when I tell her it's gone she keeps crying. My #1 pet peeve, besides the toilet paper on the holder, is whining. During the day is easy though, nighttime sucks really bad. I know, this to will pass. Ethan fell and banged up his knee today and cried forever, OK not really, but felt like it because he whined about all day. I don't, very often, get excited about bedtime, because I love spending the time with my kids, but I was so excited for bedtime, and to add more to my excitement, I didn't hear one peep or whine, they went straight to sleep. Chris was only home for a couple hours after work because he went out the missionaries on splits, so I got to put the kids to bed alone. Normally they fight, but I think they were tired. Instead of doing homework tonight I played on my computer games (love playing my games). It was a wonderful change. Time for bed though, take care.

Taking a small break

Just wanted to take a break from science and write a little bit. I wanted to share the news that I received 108% on my last math test. For those of you who know me real well, will know I suck at math. This came as a real shock to me. I finished the test feeling pretty good, but I have had that happen before and done horribly. I guess between the Lord and studying I was able to ace the test. The teacher has said that if we can average a 90% on the first three tests we can skip the final, but I won't get to ahead of myself, but that is my goal. I'm in my fourth week of summer school and feeling pretty burned out. I have been going to classes since last August and I get a short two week of rest between semesters. I am taking three classes next semester, Chemistry, Medical Terminology 2, and Sociology. I think that will keep me pretty busy.

I found out a week ago that the gym I was attending was shutting its doors, this was sad for me. They had (free) child care and I didn't want to work out after Chris got home or after class. So now I am converting the living room into a small gym a few times a week so I can continue to get in shape. I was also taking a body sculpting class, and it was so awesome! I finally felt the muscles I had only read about in biology. I was finally starting to see results. Where I live we have limited selection of gyms and the ones that around are very expensive and you have to pay an extra fee for child care or they don't have it. Oh well, I'll work it out.

The kids are doing awesome, wellllll, except today they wouldn't listen. I know it's normal, but it's so frustrating. I am starting serious potty training with Jenna this week. It's going OK, she like to sit on the potty and point at the shower curtain instead on using the potty what it's actually for. I have the kids bathroom made up with Spongebob (I know I'm addicted) and she loves the curtain. She continues to pick on her older brother and it makes Ethan so mad, but than they also play real cute together. Last week we (yes, me too) went and played in the water and they had so much fun. It's just so blasted hot right now, we reached over 110 degrees today, I think. We hate Arizona in the summer, but the winter is all worth it, trust me. Chris has received a new calling in the ward, he is a ward missionary. He really enjoys it so far. I am still compassionate service leader when my school isn't interrupting. Well, I have taken way too much time away from my homework and will return.

Learning to fail, but not liking it.

Well, most of you know that I am going for my nursing degree. In order to apply for the RN program at my school you have to be a CNA. The CNA class I was taking got out on May 17 and this last Sunday, June 8th, I had to go take my state board test. This test requires a written and skill test. I passed the written test with a 94%, but failed my skill test. I got the skill of blood pressure which is not my strongest skill, I have ones that are way stronger, but we don't pick the skill we are tested on. Anyway, I knew after I left I had failed that part of my test, I was pretty upset and called Chris and then started crying. I have passed the last couple of semesters with good grades, I passed the HESI test (nursing entrance exam) on my first try, so this was quite a blow. I guess the thing I learned from this is to put your trust in the Lord and realize I'm not the only person who has failed at something, but it still sucks. This is my pity party for the week. It has been so awesome to look at the blogs from old classmates, to see how your families have grown, especially since the 10 year reunion.

Also, for those of you who don't know, Chris and I have started the adoption process through LDS family services. I can't have anymore children of my own and we feel like something or someone is missing in our family. We are very excited to welcome a new baby in our home when the Lord sees fit to give us a child. Ethan keeps saying he wants a little brother, he wants to keep his sister too though. I was nervous thinking he wanted to give her back, but I know he lover her dearly. Well, hope all is well with everybody and Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there.

Summer break!!! (Yeah right)

I have found that even though breaks come along, they aren't really breaks. I am currently taking summer classes so I can apply for the RN program this Spring. I'm finally starting to see that small light at the end of the tunnel. I have to say though, school is much more enlightening this time around. I get better grades and people are much more mature in college (most are anyway). This summer I am taking a math and science class, my weaker subjects, but so far passing with A's. I saw the blog for the MHS class of '94 and so I thought I would continue to TRY and do this. Homework sometimes gets in the way. I hope this finds all of you well especially those I have not kept in contact with. Ethan starts school next month, both he and I are excited about that. Jenna, well she's just still 2 and acting it. Not much with Chris, just watching the kids while I attend school. So, now that it's 1 AM I am going to bed. Take care.

School is finally out!!!

So now that school is finally over and I'm not concerned about my next practical or exam I can take the time to write. Well, I have to say, I am very proud of myself. I have received another 4.0 this semester. Considering BIO201 was one of my classes that's totally awesome. I really suck at science. I barely pulled an A, but still pulled one. My other class was the CNA class, that was easy gradewise, but hard in other aspects. We recently finished working at a nursing home. This was very humbling to me. You grow to care for these people as if you had known them forever. They taught me alot too. I have learned that I am glad I'm becoming a nurse, so that my family will not have to go to a nursing home. Although I learned alot, I'm glad it's over. I just felt sorry for these people. I will take my boards in a couple of weeks, and apply for the RN program after summer school. Another great thing is that I have two weeks off brfore I start summer school. Good times. Ethan has started karate and loves it. He has earned a couple of belts and is doing so well. Jenna just received a cute haircut that makes her look grown up, but still acts 2. Nothing new with Chris right now, he's just glad we will have our Saturdays back. Me too. That's about it for now, hope all is well everyone. Happy Mother's Day!

Well, since I have started this, I think I should continue with it. I just don't have much going on right now. I am currently taking a CNA class and we have spent the last few Saturdays at a hospital. My first day on the floor I went to the OB floor, not much was going on so I did alot of sitting around and then my last 45 mins. I was thrust onto a different floor and was told to do things I never done before. Needless to say I felt very inadequate. I was feeling very discouraged and wondered if this is what I really wanted to do, but I thought I would give it one more week and then make a decision. I am glad I decided to wait. This last Saturday I went onto a completely different floor and I had good nurse teaching me what to do. I learned this is what I truly want to do. It also made me appreciate my good health. I loved helping the people who needed it, it gave me a rush. I know that sounds gay, but it's true. Helping those people mad me feel good. Now I know why service is so important. It helps us think of others and not just ourselves.

OK, so just because I had Spring Break, doesn't really mean I had a break. We finally decided to fix our backyard. That was a huge project. The week started off by digging holes for trees and plants. Chris laughed at me when I used the pick axe. Not cool. Tuesday, I put together a big BBQ and also a fire pit. I also managed to stop and buy some patio furniture. It was all worth it though. A couple nights ago, Chris's family was staying here and we were able to enjoy the beautiful weather and sit outside, but not on dirt. It was a great feeling. Now that the week is over we are getting back into real life. Schooling and working. Happy Easter to all who reads this.

Well, since it has been a few days, I thought I would share with you what my poor son went through on Tuesday. Every night I would notice he had issues breathing, so I brought this concern I had up to the pediatrician. He sent us the otolarynologist (ear, nose and throat doc.), and Ethan had a 95% blockage because his adenoids were so huge. So this last Tuesday we had his surgery and he was a tough little stinker. He went in the back with out a care, I think I was more scared than he was. He was in the OR for about 30 mins. when they told us we could go back because he was waking up. I got to hold him while he was waking and could breath through his nose. I was so happy I wanted to cry. It's the simple things. Anyways, he hasn't been feeling real well and has had a fever, but I think he's on the mend. It makes made me realize, I need to have the faith of a child. So, I think because this is the thing we will do it too. Although I have many other things to do, like study, I think this will be a fun thing for people to look at as the kids get older. At the present moment, Chris is still working as a BAM at SRP, although he enjoys his job he is still wanting that supervisor position. I am STILL going to school and STILL not seeing that light at the end of the tunnel, but I am told it is there. Ethan is 5 and attending preschool and he loves to go, but mostly to see his friends. Coming up soon he is going to copy his older sister and have his adenoids removed. Although it's the best thing for him, we are not excited about it. Soon he will be able to breath through his nose, what a concept. Miss Jenna is at the fun age of 2, we realize terrible two's start before 2 and continue on through 3, we don't need to be reminded. Overall, the kids are happy and healthy and so are we.
